Geographical Location, Demographic Data, and Area

Rivne region (or Rivnenska Oblast) is located in the north-western part of Ukraine. It is strategically placed between markets of eastern and western Europe.

Rivne region is situated at the crossroads of international highways and railways connecting Europe with Asia, and the Baltic Sea with the Black Sea. The distance from the border of the region to the EU border is just 150 km (2-hour drive). The distance from Rivne to Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, by railways is 391 km, by highways – 321 km (4-hour drive).

There is an airport in the city of Rivne which has the capacity to receive and service all types of aircrafts.

The current population of Rivne region is estimated at around 1,154.6 thou inhabitants, and its area equals to 20.1 thou sq km.

Investment Offers of Rivne Region

1.     The Industrial Park of Rivne Region is to be located in Kostopil district on the area of 145.13 ha. The specialist wrote a land surveying draft and held a presentation campaign in order to find potential participants of the auction aiming to sell land lease rights for the industrial park construction.

2.   Investment Project “Rivne International Airport”. The airport is located 8 km southwest from Rivne. The airport is adjacent to the international transport route “Kyiv – Warsaw – Chop”. Out of all airports in western Ukraine, “Rivne International Airport” has the most favourable geographical location.

The airport aerodrome has a runway which is 2,626 m long and 42 m wide. The runway is covered with concrete and today as compared with other airports in the western region Rivne International Airport runway is in the best condition. The aerodrome is suitable for accommodating aircrafts with a loading of 210 tons per 1 sq m around the clock in any time of the year. The airport has a capacity of about 500 passengers per hour and 50 tons of freight per day.

General airport area: 165.0435 ha.

3.    Industrial sites of regional importance from 10 to 40 hectares: there are land-surveying drafts for six land plots which are identified for the creation of local industrial zones. In particular, they are Dubrovytsia, Sarny, Mlyniv, Korets, Radyvyliv districts and the city of Dubno.

- increasing investment attractiveness of the region and stimulating investment for the creation of the Industrial Park of Rivne region;

- implementing joint programmes and projects, including those within the framework of European programmes;

- sharing experience in the field of new methods’ and technologies’ use aiming to raise the competitiveness of products and services;

- establishing, developing, and deepening cooperation in the field of education, culture, sports, and health; carrying out joint activities etc.
